Fifth Grade

Fifth and Sixth Grade students, Mrs. Upton and Mr. Lester with Olympic Gold Medalist, Claire Donahue - 8/30/12 at W.R. McNeill Elementary School

Fifth Grade focuses on further deepening the academic and spiritual groundwork laid in the student's previous years here at Holy Trinity. Religion is added as a special course led by Holy Trinity Church's pastor, Andrew Toopes. Two major focal points are critical thinking and logic skills. The class also spends plenty of time practicing composition. To aid in the learning process, Fifth and Sixth Grade often dramatizes the content they are learning. (For example, rather than simply reading about the Nile, they build the Nile in the center of the classroom, sail down it, renacting the battles that took place along its banks.) Fifth and Sixth Grade employs the Scientific Method when problem solving. In whatever they study within creation, the students seek and contemplate the fingerprint of God.
