Fifth and Sixth Grade Students, Mrs. Upton and Mr. Lester with Olympic Gold Medalist, Claire Donahue - 8/30/12 at W.R. McNeill Elementary School.
Sixth Grade here at Holy Trinity focuses on preparing our graduates to enter Middle School, both academically and spiritually. (Religion is added as a special course taught by Pastor Andrew Toopes of HTLC.) Two main focal points are Critical Thinking and Logic Skills. The skill of composition is refined and practiced in the sixth grade class. To aid in the learning process, this class often dramatizes the content they are studying. (For example, rather than simply reading about the Nile, they build it in the center of their classroom, sail down it and reenact the battles that took place along its banks.) The Scientific Method is employed when tackling problem solving. In whatever they study within creation, these students seek and contemplate the fingerprint of God.
